Wausau Area Fresh Start

Wausau's Area Fresh Start program proves to be another successful project where numerous organizations all worked together. The Wisconsin State Department of Commerce's support and encouragement, WFS has two crews with Brett Petersen and Tom Hargraves as the Site Supervisors. Both Tom and Brett's crew have demonstrated a cooperative work ethic to ensure that our projects are completed as well as providing good mentoring to the Americorp members.

WFS assists individuals to complete their GED's (General Educational Diploma). Jill Literski, our classroom instructor, is instrumental in our member's academic success. Approximately 70% of our members didn't complete High School, however with members dedicating up to two hours per day in the classroom, and with Jill's helpfulness has earned WFS's success with the pledging of the Wausau School District financial support in the future.
